I have sold many bikes and one of the most gemon questions I get is, "how tall was the previous owner." or "will I fit this bike" and they tell me their height. While height is important, your leg length is more important. 2 people the same height can have different leg lengths and the same bike will not fit both people.
The best way to determine the right size bike is ask for the stand-over height. This is the measurement from the top of the top tube to the ground. When standing over the bike, there should be 1 to 4 inches of clearance between the bar and your crotch.
For a womans bike frame, sit on the seat and your feet should be almost flat on the ground. Asking for themeasurement from the top of the seat to the ground should help you find the right size bike.
