Tubing has seen to big products this yearby ways of the Sumo and Wego, both made by SportsStuff. I wrote another guide on the Wego, entitled "Don't Buy the Wego, Until You Read This", if that gives you any hint on that death trap.
The Sumo however is a different story, it is a fun and a refreshing way to tube. We attached it to my boat and I took the first run. It started off a little rough because I was getting spray right in my face, but once we increased the speed most of it was eliminated. I tried rolling it and while it does roll it takes quite a bit of effort and I could not see a person being able to do back to back barrel rolls with any kind of fluidity.
Next, I tried jumping the wake, which on the box showed a guy popping right out of the water. In my case, I found that is a little harder done than pictured. The tube has a lot of surface area and it is hard to generate the diagonal speed to fly into the wake and achieve any air.
Overall, it is a fun tube, great novelty because when people see it, they don't believe you are actually going to wear it. Also if they ever gee out the Pro Tubing Tour, you will have a leg up by starting early. :)
