If you are planning on bidding on or buying an unlocked Boost Mobile Phone for use on Nextel, this guide may be useful to you! Before buying or bidding, you may want to ask the seller of the item if the phone is simply unlocked for Nextel, or if it has also been programmed for use on Nextel. Unlocking programs for Boost Mobile Phones are now a dime a dozen on okay and the web. UnlockedBoost phones WILL work on Nextel. In the case of simply UNLOCKING the phone, we are defining the word "work" as being able to make and receive calls, and receive text messages ONLY!
There are quite a few functions on the phone that will not "work"! For beginners, the web functions will be limited. Downloading ring tones, and wall paper will not work, since the settings in the phone are pointing the device to download from the Boost Mobile website, and deduct the balance from the Boost Mobile account associated with the device. Also, the three way calling features onBoost phones is disabled. Also, with an unlocked Boost Mobile phone, you will not be able to send any messages, including text, mms, or Picture messages. Also removed from Boost Mobile phones is the OFF NETWORK PUSH TO TALK feature. This feature allows for the phones to be used as two way radios, with a normal range of two miles.
