Parts Cars ARE Parts Cars.

Classic case of what runs sellers off of using okay. I listed a Porsche 911 in parts cars, because that is what it is. Buy it now $1200 or best offer. I get phone calls instantly. A couple of hours later, a guy calls up and wants a virtual tour of the car over the phone. I do so. He offers $900 and I accept (wrong choice).
He wants to pay and get the title and bill of sale last week (35 miles away). Will not inspect car. Calls the day before pick up and says he won't pick it up, it needs to be delivered 35 miles away.I get a wrecker booked in the 11th hour of his pick-up. Hecalls me asking for a refund, because the roof had been cut off and re-attached. I am a certified collision repair tech. The roof had not been cut off and put back on.
The buyer would not quit jabbering. Meanwhile my wife, the attorney, heard the whole thing and was telling me that he signed the bill of sale and title and everything was done.. The buyer said, quote, "tell your wife to shut up". I hung up. There is no amount of the customer is right to go through that. Not for $900.
I called the wrecker gepany to apologize for any 'tude from the customer. They said all was good. The customer had two mercedes and an indy car in a race hauler. Paid the tow bill in cash. Claimed he just raced the indy car. Greasy trucker or richy rich? Doesn't matter. A parts car is a parts car. Don't expect to hop in and drive.
